It has been identified by the UK government that the proportion of unemployed youth – between ages 16-24 – has risen to 15.6% (highest in a final quarter since 2005) and the number is expected to grow continuously. According to figures released by Department of Education in UK, about 18% of the youth between ages 18-24 are unemployed, a number which is apparently following a growing trend. With the youth unemployment peak hitting all-time highs, the situation poses an issue that needs to be immediately addressed. There is an extreme need of investment in education owing to the recent economic recession which left many graduates struggling to find employment opportunities or had to take up jobs way below their educational background and working capabilities. Along with enterprises such as Green Light Southampton, that provides programs and services to provide such an environment to the youth; there are major hurdles which restrain them from reaching out to a larger community. The absence of sufficient financial and marketing capabilities of such enterprises is a problem that also has to be realized by investor companies who need to endeavor towards supporting the community aspects of such business.
